how do you contract gential herpes if you and your parnter have not had another sex partner??

If that question made any sense anyone know how its contracted if each person has an std but has not had another sex parnter?? other then the person they are with??
me and my partner have an std but we have not had anyway other parnters we both have been to the doctors and been tested and the tests came back positive!
we havent done anything sexual(oral,anal,inter) nothing with no one but us! but we both have it! how?

Alot of older relatives don’t understand that cold sores on their mouth ARE HERPES… they then kiss little kids & give them herpes…
which in later years – they have sexual contact and oral sex and spread it to a lover & they don’t have any clue where it came from
