Help Please! How do you engrave a name into drum sticks?
I got my friend drumsticks for christmas and I have a limited budjet so I was goin to engrave her name in them instead of hiring somebody. I was going to use a wood burner but I am afriad I will mess it up. I also have a etcher (works good on plastic) but it doesn’t work good on wood because of the grain. Does anybody have an alternative, cheap way of doing this?
Not sure where you are, but if you can find someone with a laser engraver (mine is an Epilog) that has a rotary attachement, they are easily engraved with a name, design or whatever you might want that will fit on the circumfrence of a drum stick. I have done several and usually charge around $15.00 to $20.00 a set depending on what is wanted on them.

I am doing an engraving project which requires me to fill small lettering in black.?
Anyone know any good filler that can be used on Nylon/Plastic?
I am assuming you are filling in the etched part
So if you paint (use water based acrylics) over the etched part = can you quickly rub the excess paint off the plastic so it remains in the etched letters and wipe the plastic clean
try a sample first = dont use too much water = you dont want to have it run in the etched letters. Maybe a damp sponge. Maybe if you do a little section at a time you can get it off before it sets so you dont have to scrape the plastic.

What images should I put on my website?
My website is actually a system that handles daily business transactions. These include ordering items and stuff like that.
Items include machines (printers and cutters and engravers) and their supplies and spare parts like inks and stuff like that.
The problem is that users don’t really need photos of the machines they order, they just select them from a list and submit their orders.
I guess the site looks kinda dull..so I need ideas of photos and images to put on the website’s pages to enhance how it looks like?
I need ideas how to use these printers photos and display them on the site so they would look relevant.

Is it possible to contain dry ice and keep it from warming, does sublimation stop?
I think I can make manmade icebergs that contain CO2 dry-ice to refreeze the Artic from Global Warming. Perhaps there is a way to make a machine that will capture CO2 sublimation gas and instantly repressurize and refreeze it to stablize the freeze condition. Solar panels could provide the energy to power the machines pressure applications. This will keep the Artic cold for decades.
I believe that if you supercool air, carbon dioxide is the second substance to condense out of it (following water vapor). That would take a LOT of energy, particularly if you wanted to do it on any grand scale, but then, there’s a LOT of sunlight reaching Earth at any given moment. While I definitely see the logic of what you’re proposing, I think the biggest problem will be overcoming the basic inefficiency inherent in any energy-transforming system. For example, the machines that condense the CO2 would produce a lot of waste heat, so by the time your giant blocks of dry ice start cooling the Arctic, how much heat will you have released into the environment elsewhere?
Keep thinking, though…it’s innovative minds like yours that will get us out of this pickle. I hope.

Why does the blade on my vinyl plotter/cutter rip the vinyl?
Every time I try to cut a design in the vinyl, the blade goes too deep or the vinyl moves the wrong way (not sure which is the cause) and the cutter head ends up ripping up the vinyl instead of just cutting the surface of the vinyl.
I’ve tried adjusting the depth of the cut so many times and it always cuts perfectly on the practice cut. Any suggestions?
Because the blade is dull or has a chip in it and it’s snagging instead of cutting.
Or you might have it set at the wrong angle.
