Why You Need An Affiliate Mechanic

“Having All The Right Parts, Does Not Mean That Your ‘Sales Machine’ Is Assembled Properly!”

A Simple Fact: “Henry Ford Did Not Become A Manufacturing Icon By Installing The Body Before The Motor Was Mounted To The Chassis!”
Get The Picture?

Discover why owning and operating an online business is no different than producing a quality piece of machinery. And what do you need to assemble and finely tune an online sales machine?
You’ve got it… a Mechanic! An Affiliate Mechanic!!

When getting ready to assemble anything, what do you do first?

Are you one of those persons that opens the box, dumps the pieces on the floor and starts putting things together? I hope not! You read the Instruction or Owner’s Manual first, right?

There’s a reason someone is paid to write instructions. What is it?
They’re important!!

And when was the last time you bought something that didn’t have some sort of instructions included?

I recently purchased a single-blade, folding pocketknife, as a gift for my Dad and guess what….

~~> It came with instructions!

Now, I won’t get into the hi-tech operation of a single-hinged apparatus but, the point I’d like to make is that it doesn’t matter how simple things may seem, there’s always a specific process to be followed.

So Why Should Building Your Online
Business Be Any Different?

It’s not and…. it shouldn’t be!

I’ve been building things(and taking them apart) for nearly my entire life.

Back as long as I can remember, I knew that my brother and I were destined for lives in construction.

At about age 8, we built a boat in our basement! We cut every board with a hand-saw. Pounded every nail with our pint-sized hammers left under our Christmas Tree by Santa. Painted every square inch of our new vessel to preteen perfection!

Ahh, yes(sigh). She was an absolute thing of beauty! Complete with a mast, sail and rudder!

~~> The time had come to release our creation into the wilderness!

Being the budding nautical geniuses that we were, we knew it was too heavy for us to lift ourselves.

Our next move? The all too familiar call came muffled from the basement, “Daaaaaaad, will you help us?”

Down the steps he came, our saviour!

Now, keep in mind, that this is the same man that watched his sons labor tirelessly on this ‘boat’ for over three weeks during our Christmas vacation and then after school and on the weekends.

The same man that helped his two boys drag their boat to the basement hatch-way.

Then helped them twist and turn their boat in every angle imaginable.

Yep, the same man that said, “Looks like it’s too big to go out the door, hah?! I guess you boys should have had a plan, hey?!”

The moral of the story:
My Dad watched us build it and new right away that it would never fit outside(not to mention, it would have sank like a rock!). So why did he let us finish? Not to mention the fact that he actually helped us try to get the ‘boat’ outside!

~~> It was to teach us a lesson!

Have a plan. Follow the plan. Succeed with the plan!

Well, I’m glad to report that my first building failure didn’t discourage me!

I’m sure that my love for building things, anything, is a huge part of why I’ve been so
successful with the behind the scenes ‘mechanics’ of affiliate marketing.

I was once asked, “Do you want to be rich and famous, Jeff?”

My answer, “Just rich, my name is too hard to pronounce to be famous!”

That was a couple years ago and the same still holds true for me today. With one big difference.

While I’m sure that some of you reading this DO want to be famous, for me, seeing my inbox filled with emails that have the subject line….

~~> Congratulations, you’ve just made a sale!

…. is, hands-down, more gratifying than any number of people actually knowing my name or even how to pronounce it for that matter!

Why? Because those emails tell me that I have built a strong ’sales machine’!

Oh, and that “one big difference”….

When I started internet marketing in 1997, my ‘plan’ was to make some extra cash. But, I never expected that it would turn into a burning desire to help others.

I never imagined that I would one day amass a countless number spiral notebooks and a shoe box full of post-it notes all filled with ideas, links, test results and contacts.

And I certainly NEVER thought that I would one day take those items and organize them in the form of a book!

And if anyone had told me back then, that I would turn what I was learning into a ’system’ that would help others, I probably would have checked their temperature and asked if they were feeling OK.
